Smell-O-Vision
Think I remember seeing something like this in one of those Looney Toons "look in the future" cartoon years ago:
Movie-Goers Getting Smells to Match ScenesTOKYO - A theater audience in Japan will be sniffing their noses — literally — at a new Hollywood adventure film when it opens here later this month.
A new service from a major telecommunications company, NTT Communications Corp., will synchronize seven different smells to parts of "The New World," starring Colin Farrell.
A floral scent accompanies a love scene, while a mix of peppermint and rosemary is emitted during a tear-jerking scene. Joy is a citrus mix of orange and grapefruit, while anger is enhanced by a herb-like concoction with a hint of eucalyptus and tea tree.
The smells waft from special machines under the seats in the back rows of two movie theaters, which create different fragrances by controlling the mix of oils stored in the machines, company spokeswoman Akiko Suzaki said Wednesday.
Of course this means you'll have to be more selective about what movies you go to in the future. Can't imagine what that toilet scene in "Dumb and Dumber" would smell like.

What I want to know is how they are going to clean up the smells after each scene. If they can't vacuum them out somehow, by the end of a roller-coaster emotion movie the place would smell like the perfume store mixed with a landfill.

Haha..yeah, Mad Pigeon. Of course I'm not sure if smellovision could overcome some of the "smell" the Bennellis would bring to a movie theater after a night of drinking.

As in "the smell" of a Bennelli hotel room the morning after a late night out. Mix of stale smoke, beer sweat, beer farts and general uncleanliness.

You guys can wax poetic on whatever scents you want -- thanks for the description, Razor -- but if they're doing Smell-O-Vision here, I'm holding out for a scene between Jenna Jameson and Chloe Jones.

Hey Boogie, hows it going down there in Yankee town? We've been off and on here due to some technical difficulties and oncoming "baby" issues but will be starting up again. I agree although Sal is the main Jenna Jameson afficienado!
